On May 9 and a perfect cleanup morning, about 25 volunteers arrived at Camp Independence in Ingleside, IL to get ready for this year’s opening. Trail clearing, cleaning inside the lodge and its windows, cutting grass, planting flowers and vegetables in raised beds, and painting were the choirs of the day.
