Illinois-Eastern Iowa District Governor Welcome

Hello I-I District,

As with every New Year, we reflect on the year past. With that, I’d like to thank Governor Dustin Morrison for his leadership, his energy and his overall emphasis on service and reminding us   why we’re Kiwanians. Thank You Dustin!

As I announced at the District Convention in Bloomington, my   theme for this year is “Make A Difference”! Unknown to me prior to that, there is a national Make a Difference Day that  occurs annually on the fourth Saturday in October. To that end, I declared October 28th as a Districtwide day of service. I’m asking each club to partake in some type of service or service project.  I’m also asking that you let me know what, where and when you’re doing something, and I will make every attempt to attend. I plan to spend the entire day in my car traveling the state to participate in as many as possible.

I also encourage you to go to the district website at iikiwanis.org and click on the Education Resources tab. Find the 2023-24 Distinguished Criteria link and click on that. Take a look at it and encourage your club to participate as a club also.

I look forward to an exciting and fun year leading the 1-1 District. I’m encouraged by the enthusiasm I’m already seeing and loving when I’m greeted with “I’m MAD”! Get MAD about Kiwanis with me and let’s have some FUN!
