The Harry S. Himmel Founders Society recognizes those who provide a long-term commitment to I-I District KNRF. A member of the Kiwanis Club of South Town-Chicago, Harry S. Himmel served as Governor of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis International during 1941-1942. Starting in 1950, Past Governor Harry S. Himmel became the driving force behind the creation of the then Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District. His vision, perseverance, and determination culminated in the official incorporation of the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation in 1952, with Past Governor Harry S. Himmel leading as the founding Chairman and Head of the Foundation. With a name change in 2016 the I-I District Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation to better reflect the focus of this charitable medical research foundation, Harry S. Himmel’s vision continues to live on.
On behalf of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation, we are proud to honor Harry S. Himmel’s vision and dedication by creating the Harry S.
