The Harry S. Himmel Founders Society recognizes those who provide a long-term commitment to I-I District KNRF. A member of the Kiwanis Club of South Town-Chicago, Harry S. Himmel served as Governor of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis International during 1941-1942. Starting in 1950, Past Governor Harry S. Himmel became the driving force behind the creation of the then Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District. His vision, perseverance, and determination culminated in the official incorporation of the Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation in 1952, with Past Governor Harry S. Himmel leading as the founding Chairman and Head of the Foundation. With a name change in 2016 the I-I District Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation to better reflect the focus of this charitable medical research foundation, Harry S. Himmel’s vision continues to live on.
On behalf of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation, we are proud to honor Harry S. Himmel’s vision and dedication by creating the Harry S. Himmel Founders Society. Anyone can join the Harry S. Himmel Founders Society by including the I-I District Kiwanis Neuroscience Research Foundation in your estate planning. This includes, but is not limited to:
Including KNRF as a beneficiary in your trust or your will
Making KNRF at least a partial beneficiary to your IRA
Consider a life insurance policy with the beneficiary being KNRF
Please note that KNRF is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization – you are strongly encouraged to discuss these options with your tax advisor and legal counsel for tax benefits.

The former Kiwanis Club of Lisle, Illinois was reconstituted into the Kiwanis Club of Lisle, Illinois on December 15. Tom Willis, past Governor, moderated the meeting and along with others on Zoom, guided the new members in establishing the new club, setting up basic procedures and policies. Jay Hubbard, Global Club Opener, kicked off the meeting by describing the basic Kiwanis organizational structure, bylaws, dues, meeting rules and scheduling, etc.

On December 11, twelve Kiwanis clubs of the Davenport region celebrated the holiday season with their annual “Tom and Jerry” fellowship gathering. The Central Davenport High Holiday Singers graced the event with a wonderful medley of holiday songs including several soloist. The singers were guided by advisors Emily Shrank and Michael Reese. ...
